Hi and welcome to Scarlett Photography! My name is Al and I live and love Cornwall! I’m guessing you are either from here or also have a strong connection with this beautiful county. Scenic landscapes, charming seaside towns, breathtaking beaches, rich wildlife and good old Cornish hospitality. Why would you have your photographs taken anywhere else?
I remember choosing a photographer for our wedding and realising how incredibly important this job is. The one special day where our closest friends and family are gathered together to witness this key milestone in our life. My goal in choosing a photographer was to receive a beautiful image of my wife and myself that I could proudly display on our wall. I also wanted lots of natural photographs of all the closest people we knew and some chosen group shots.
Why Choose Scarlett Photography?
This leads me to my way of photographing your Cornish wedding. I am there to catch the emotion, laughter and tears, the fun and the quirky. I will document the day in an unobtrusive discreet manner, leaving you to enjoy the day and spend as much time with your friends and family as possible. As your story unfolds I will be there to pick out the key moments, whilst still capturing the ambience surrounding your wedding day. Your choice of venue located in one of the many unique areas dotted around Cornwall is the perfect backdrop to beautiful photographs. Immerse yourselves in the landscape, the beaches, the venue, rain or shine I will be there to capture it.
Although the day is spent photographing in a reportage documentary style, I’m sure you will value some group photographs of close relatives and friends, your bridesmaids and groomsmen. I will organise these quickly at appropriate times with small amount of direction if needed so as not to interfere with the flow of the day.
Do you like your photograph being taken?
For those couples like myself who are not really comfortable in-front of a camera, I assure you will find me really easy going and relaxed. I recommend a pre-wedding shoot to help break the ice. It is a great opportunity for us to get to know each other and possibly visit your venue. It’s also a nice break leading up to the wedding for you to relax and take a break from all the organising and re-kindle your excitement for the big day.
Elopements & Intimate Wedding Photography
It is a true honour to be invited to small intimate ceremonies. I love the freedom and endless possibilities for creative photographs without the constraints and timelines of larger events. It’s a fantastic opportunity to let your personalities and passions rule, your sense of adventure and shared love for the outdoors, A freedom to choose any location you like. Cliff top views, ancient woodland, sand between your toes, wind in your hair. A real chance for a bespoke photography experience of which you can share with friends and family afterwards.
Albums and Prints
One of our biggest regrets when we got married was not getting any high quality prints and albums produced. I personally believe this is such an important and special way of remembering your day. I guarantee you will love it when you first open it and I know you will value it more and more as the years go by. Sharing it with your children, grandchildren. Tears of joy at dated hairdos, cars and fashion. Tears of love for ones who have passed. You may not pick it up for years but each time you open the pages the happy memories will flood back.
There’s nothing I love more than photographing a family enjoying the outdoors together. Hide and seek, jumping in muddy puddles, running, laughing, playing with sticks or just being together! If your family love the beaches, the woods, then what a better gift, capturing the true personalities of your family unit out of the traditional studio and immersed into more familiar surroundings. Wellies, brollies, hats, gloves – the weather doesn’t stop play here! Cornwall has the best beaches in the world – fact! At the beach, memories are made, whether it’s leaping from the dunes, building castles, exploring the rock pools, jumping the waves or walking your dog. Within this beautiful environment I will capture the fun of a family day by the sea.
Pearl had invited her family from Ireland and Newcastle for a much-needed get-together and more importantly meet the new grandchildren. I was honoured to be
