“The pictures are mesmerizing, thank you so much for creating such wonderful memories for us.”
Tabassum and Syed are getting married in May, back home in India. They asked me if I could help them arrange a pre wedding photoshoot here in Cornwall as they were going to travel down from Leeds. I’m so pleased I had the day free and got to meet such a lovely couple.
I helped Tabasuum and Syed in securing some fantastic local accommodation after their long journey. The Ocean Side Hotel is perfectly suited, with easy access to Newquay and beautiful sea views overlooking Fistral Beach. The original plan was to arrive on Saturday evening and start shooting early afternoon Sunday,Ā visiting 3-4 locations and finishing off with a magical Cornish sunset.Ā
After a good run of sunshine it was obvious that we had to change our plans as the weather was about to change. Tabasuum and Syed immediately agreed and we decided to split the shoot in two, as there was a slight chance of a break in the clouds on the day they arrived. We also decided that a morning shoot on the Sunday would be best as rain was forecasted for the afternoon.
Tabasuum and Syed were awesome! Within hours of arrival (from Leeds) they were dressed and ready to head down to Little Fistral to get a few shots while we had the only forecasted break in the Cornish mizzle! It was wild, the sea was rough and it was absolutely perfect! We had the beach pretty much to ourself and captured a great set of images.
This was not going to be an ordinary pre wedding photoshoot....
As we were wrapping up for the day Syed came over and asked if I could photograph his surprise proposal the next dayā¦. Syed, yes of course I can š
The next day was much better than forecasted. We headed to Holywell Bay and made use of the stunning dunes. I had secretly messaged Syed in the evening with a plan on how and where to photograph the proposal. It was beautiful and Tabassum was swept off her feet. We walked back along the beach and took a great image in front of Gull Rocks and then proceeded to Droskyn Point to finish off with some photographs around the rock formations and pools at Perranporth Beach.
Obviously we had to grab a quick warm drink at the Watering Hole too! As predicted, by the time we got back to the car, the heavens opened. I didnāt envy their drive back to Leeds but felt privileged to show them a little slice of Cornwall.
They will be back š
